Snowbird Season typically starts around October and ends around April.
Snowbird Season is the time of the year, when folks from the northern states (which are known as snowbirds), come down to Florida, Arizona, Texas, and anywhere else with warm winter's. Normally, it's Florida or Arizona.
Now that it is April, and Snowbird Season has ended, all of these Snowbirds are finishing up their vacations and need to ship their vehicles back from Florida, Arizona, and Texas, up to their homes in the northern states.
So, what does this mean for you as a Customer who is trying to ship a car?
This means that the Customer Demand to ship out of Florida, Texas, and Arizona will dramatically increase in the next few months. This increase in Demand will conversely drive the shipping cost up in these areas. Since there are more cars that need shipped than usual, the Supply of Drivers thins out. So, you can expect to pay anywhere from $100 - $400 from April to July, or until the shipping cycles get back to normal.
So, this is an FYI for all Customer's shipping your vehicles out of Florida, Texas, and/or Arizona in the next few months. That's just the way that the cookie crumbles this time of year.
